Located 36 miles north of downtown Phoenix, Cave Creek began as a bustling mining town in the 1880s. Primarily a residential area with heavy emphasis on resort-style living and low density development, the community is supported mostly by retail and commercial businesses. Cave Creek is also known for its rustic shops, saloons and cowboy cafes lining the main street, along with antique shops, Native American crafts, and the Black Mountain Brewing Company - famous for Crazy Ed's Original Cave Creek Chili Beer.
